Arrive into Broken Hill and stay in our beautifully appointed King Spa Cabins at the Broken Hill Outback Resort or alternatively at our sister properties in the main street of town The Argent Motel, this is where your tour will commence, we will pick you up after having a lovely breakfast to start your day. 

Day 1: Departing Broken Hill 8.30am – 8:45am we travel south to the community of Menindee where we will explore the picturesque Menindee Lake System. After enjoying morning tea in this stunning location, we board the River Lady on a one hour cruise between the renowned drowned river gums of Lake Wetherall. There is an abundance of wildlife and birdlife to be spotted enjoying the waters found in this area, and many photo opportunities to be had. 

Lunch is at  Pooncarie in a nice riverside historic Hotel, before we take to the road again on our journey to towards the renowned Mungo Lodge - our home for the next two nights. (B,L,D)

Day 2: After breakfast, we prepare to spend an exciting day exploring the amazing World Heritage Listed Mungo National Park. Step back in time to an era when giant marsupials roamed the earth. Mungo is an area rich in Aboriginal history, with evidence found here dating back well over 40,000 years to mans early occupation of this once much wetter area. Australia’s oldest human remains, the Mungo Man and Mungo Lady, were discovered here in 1974. Learn how this ancient skeleton has changed our understanding of indigenous culture. We end the day is spectacular fashion with a journey to the “Walls of China” to watch the magic happen as the sun sets and the colors glow - Mungo Sunset Tour. (B,L,D) 

Day 3: We spend more time this morning soaking up the Mungo NP experience. After lunch we have a quick look around the vibrant town of Mildura, a mecca for riverboats and paddle steamers, before following the Silver City Highway back to Broken Hill for trips end.

Includes: Meals as listed (B=Breakfast,  L=Lunch, D=Dinner), 3 nights’ accommodation, transfers, and travel in a fully equipped 4WD vehicle. Departures: Scheduled departures each month and can be requested on demand (minimum of 4 adult passengers to confirm departure). To operate a tour on a Saturday or Sunday, a minimum of 4 adult passengers (or equivalent fare) is required. Other tour dates can be booked on demand for a minimum of 4 adult passengers (Monday to Friday).

Departure time is 8:30am – 8:45am (may be earlier in hot weather) – pick up from your Broken Hill accommodation.
